Quotebook: Web Development and Business Concept
Type: Web Development, Business Pitch
Role: Developer, Designer, UI/UX
Project
The Quote Book is a digital platform designed to help users capture and preserve meaningful, hilarious, or inspirational quotes they encounter in everyday life. It serves as a personal time capsule and social platform where users can share quotes with friends, engage with a universal feed, and reminisce over their favorite sayings.
The inspiration comes from a simple need to remember and cherish impactful moments of verbal expression.
Orginal MVP
The concept started with an MVP that was simple and manual:
- Tool Used: The Apple Notes app was the original platform where users manually jotted down memorable quotes.
- Process:
- Any quote deemed hilarious, crazy, or inspirational was written immediately, alongside the name of the person who said it.
- Additional context was included only if it was essential to understand the quote.
- The notes served as a personal log but lacked interactivity or accessibility for broader sharing.
This MVP validated the core need for a streamlined and accessible quote-capturing solution.
Mission
The Quote Book’s mission is rooted in the importance of verbal communication in creating connections and memories. The goal is to make these fleeting moments tangible and shareable while fostering authenticity.
- "Memoriae Sacrum" (Sacred to the Memory): Preserving the sacredness of verbal moments.
- Connection through Communication: Highlighting how our words define who we are and how we relate to others.
Validation
To ensure market relevance, Quote Book drew inspiration from BeReal, a trending app that emphasizes authenticity and spontaneity. The rise of nostalgia-focused products and authentic online engagement validates the potential success of Quote Book:
- Target Audience: Gen Z in NYC and LA, with an eventual expansion to Millennials.
- Trends Leveraged: New-age nostalgia and the cultural shift toward documenting everyday moments in meaningful ways.
